The Vuitton Foundation
This foundation created at the initiative of the LVMH group in autumn 2014 is located near the garden of acclimatization. Its interest ? It aims to perpetuate the philanthropic actions initiated since 1990 by the Fromer, first world's leader of luxury goods.
His contemporary style building was designed by Frank Gehry. It has an architecture that is almost worth the trip alone! This is illustrated in large part by its impressive and translucent glass sails.
In the end, there are 12,000 square meters of space that can be used by the foundation! Part of it is reserved for the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, which consists of 11 galleries. The places also host seminars, debates or even live shows.
The temporary exhibition on Courtauld
For nearly 4 months, the foundation should attract many French and foreigners art lovers to the west of the capital. Come discover the Courtauld collection from February 20 to June 17, 2019! It presents more than a hundred Impressionist and Post-Impressionist works that belonged to the British Samuel Courtauld, a textile manufacturer and art collector.
Every day (except on Tuesdays), visitors' eyes can admire Renoir's Lodge, Gauguin's Nevermore or Van Gogh's Self-Portrait with Banded Ear. This exhibition also honours some exceptional paintings by Jesus Rafael Soto, Alex Katz and the provencial Cézanne.
